Learning Perl 5th Edition
It looks like the Lama Book is getting an update. I’ve already pre-ordered my copy.
I just need to find a first edition to complete my collection.

Portrait Photographers Posing Guide
This is an expensive little book. However it is worth every penny. I haven’t had a chance to try out any of the simple techniques yet, but be warned my friends… The torture known as “dammit, joe brought his camera again” is about to strike.

Once Upon A Time In The North
Wonderful short story/mini-novel from Philip Pullman about my favorite character from the “His Dark Materials” trilogy, Lee Scoresby. Very fun read. I only wish there was more.
BTW, The wood cut illustrations are worth the price of admission alone. Very stunning art work.

His Dark Materials
Very fun and exciting fantasy adventure story. There are some challenging religious undertones, but don’t let that distract you and your inner-daemon from a great immersive read.

The Sword of Shannara Trilogy
I’m rereading several old favorites of mine, The Sword of Shannara Trilogy and I’m amazed at how much I’ve missed my old friend Allanon. I discovered Shannara when I was in middle school. Rereading them has brought back a lot of old memories of classmates, friends, and teachers. Funny how good books can do that.

Blaze
I really enjoyed this book written by Stephen King early in his career, but only recently released. It reminded me of Truman Capote’s true crime novel, only with cool supernatural touch.

I Am Legend
I recently finished reading the book in order to prepare myself for the DVD release of the movie. I’m afraid the movie is going to suck, there is no way it can be anywhere near as good as this slick futuristic / apocalyptic horror novel.
